Though now the extension owners have started porting the extensions to FF2. The 2 which recently got ported are GSpace & DummyLipsum.

[...] I’ve recently read in blog entry (taking a step backward) about folks who love the new functionality of Firefox 2.0b1/2, but who can’t live without their favorite extensions from 1.5.0.X which are not yet compatible in Firefox 2.0b1/2. Simple solution is the Nightly Tester Tool extension. This extension once installed will allow you to ‘make compatible’ most extensions that currently do not work in (or were never designed for) a newer version of Firefox (also works for Thunderbird).
I been using Firefox Beta 2 for a good week or so now. Get the Nightly Testers Tools extension for Firefox 2.0 and it will allow you to force those extensions that are not working yet made for 2.0, to work on 2.0. The only troubles I had was with Download Manger Tweak caused my Options windows to break and Tabbrowser Preferences just doesn't function correctly.

Hmm, I had shifted to Firefox 2 but I hated it coz of the exact same reason. Man, why can't the extensions port? Well I understand about the non-standardized framework calls and all, but hey there are people in need here :-D!!
