So after a search-and-make-up-my-mind session going to three weeks, I finally got the mobile phone I was looking for. And has fate would have it, it’s none of the models I talked about in my last entry. Well, actually I did went to but Z530 but the shop owner said he don’t have Z530 but it’s newest sibling Z550.

Sony Ericsson z550.gifSo after a little deliberation and thinking about the cost [it's Rs 9200/- with tax] I finally decided to go in for it. It’s been just 2 days so I still haven’t unleashed it’s complete potential [will take a few days more]. But from the look of it, it’s very compact & quiet gorgeous and the build quality is simply amazing [far better than what I saw of Nokia]. Even call reception, despite of having internal antenna, is really good.

So I’m off to exploring my latest handset, will post updates as and when I’ll have them.

. . . .

I’m back in the market. I’m looking for my next cell-phone. But first, let’s go through some History session [yawn ...].

I started with the Nokia 3315 some 4 years back, which was very dutifully hijacked by my sis [thankfully she handed me the SIM-Card back] after using it for just 3 months.

Sony Ericsson T68i
My next replacement purchase was the Sony Ericsson T68i one of the best handsets available at that time, given it’s dimensions and the features it packed [SMS/MMS/Email/Bluetooth/IR] with color screen. It dutifully proved it’s worth for next 2 years. except the nagging problem of joystick.

Sony Ericsson K700i
Next came the Sony Ericsson K700i. Well, basically I went in to buy some other model, but one look at K700 and I felt my legs trembling, I could hear the violins playing, the stars shining all around me, and I ended up buying the phone [not to mention it was way above the amount I was primarily ready to shell out]. And after more than 1 1/2 years, one complete servicing, one change of the joystick inner ball, it has started showing it’s age. Suddenly the calls drops, it switches off automatically, or does not switch off at all, the fully charged battery gives a talktime of only 1 hour !!

Therefore I gave in and decided to go for a new handset. But instead of going for an expensive one, I’ve decided that my max budget is going to be 10K. Oh! I didn’t mentioned, my last 2 handsets cost Rs 11K & Rs 18K respectively.

Sony Ericsson Z530i
I have squared on a potential buy. Again going in for Sony Ericsson, this time a clamshell [still can't over the whole Star Trek thingy], the Z530i, that will cost me around 7.5K. Infact I might had bought it last weekend, but since the showroom didn’t had a New Box-Packed piece, I opted out of it. If you had used it or knows someone who had used it, do let me know what are their thoughts about it, though in all possibility I would be buying the handset tomorrow.

Lorelle on WordPress Blogging ChallengeI missed the First Lorelle on WordPress Blogging Challenge [I was hiding under the bed, seriously, no not from my better-half as you might suspect].

So ultimately I crept out and decided to eventually take the Second Lorelle on WordPress Blogging Challenge .

So after doing some soul head-scratching & banging, following are 10 keywords of my blog [or so I thought]:

  • blogging
  • personal
  • browsers
  • technical
  • tools
  • thoughts
  • wordpress
  • worth-reading
  • confession
  • delicious

So first thing under the belt, now is the time for some wonder-wipe [The Great Googling] the keywords and this is what I found:

And I instantly knew that something is wrong here [or maybe everything is right ?], so I went through the list of categories on my blog and started searching for the keywords which I thought “might just make the list”. So again started the wonder-wipe and this is the wonder-wiped list:

Hmm… there were some interesting things that I noted. Like, If I search for blogs instead of blog, the result is only 206 occurrences, and this happens with 2-3 other keywords as well. Since I don’t have any plugin to generate tag-cloud, I referred to the tag-cloud generated by technorati .

So the summary:

  • In 213 articles [excluding this one], the maximum occurrence of any keyword(s) is 209 [blog & wordpress.com].
  • There is a gap between the way I tag my articles in technorati & in wordpress [or are they same ?].
  • Infact there is a gap in my blogging per se.
  • This was a very lengthy activity, Lorelle please give some “easy” challenge next week :)
