I’m back in the market. I’m looking for my next cell-phone. But first, let’s go through some History session [yawn ...].
I started with the Nokia 3315 some 4 years back, which was very dutifully hijacked by my sis [thankfully she handed me the SIM-Card back] after using it for just 3 months.

My next replacement purchase was the Sony Ericsson T68i one of the best handsets available at that time, given it’s dimensions and the features it packed [SMS/MMS/Email/Bluetooth/IR] with color screen. It dutifully proved it’s worth for next 2 years. except the nagging problem of joystick.

Next came the Sony Ericsson K700i. Well, basically I went in to buy some other model, but one look at K700 and I felt my legs trembling, I could hear the violins playing, the stars shining all around me, and I ended up buying the phone [not to mention it was way above the amount I was primarily ready to shell out]. And after more than 1 1/2 years, one complete servicing, one change of the joystick inner ball, it has started showing it’s age. Suddenly the calls drops, it switches off automatically, or does not switch off at all, the fully charged battery gives a talktime of only 1 hour !!
Therefore I gave in and decided to go for a new handset. But instead of going for an expensive one, I’ve decided that my max budget is going to be 10K. Oh! I didn’t mentioned, my last 2 handsets cost Rs 11K & Rs 18K respectively.

I have squared on a potential buy. Again going in for Sony Ericsson, this time a clamshell [still can't over the whole Star Trek thingy], the Z530i, that will cost me around 7.5K. Infact I might had bought it last weekend, but since the showroom didn’t had a New Box-Packed piece, I opted out of it. If you had used it or knows someone who had used it, do let me know what are their thoughts about it, though in all possibility I would be buying the handset tomorrow.
