I, at times, is very impatient person. Especially when things does not work the way I want them to, as a result I keep on jumping from one thing to another till I find the ultimate solution.

Same thing apply for finding a perfect [note the word] editor for making entries to this blog. The story, so far, is as follows.

I started with the Rich Text Editor provided my wordpress. But after innumerable to & fro between html code & TinyMCE editor, I got sick & tired of it and switched it off [talk about power to masses bloggers]!!

Second in line, I jumped the gun when I got my hand on flock, due to it’s inbuilt blog editor [check this post for details regarding that]. But I gave it up eventually since it was not giving me enough freedom regarding textual manipulation. Also unfortunately, due to lack of activity on development side, I have sincere doubts how long will flock be alive.

Then came Writely, the web based word processor [read this post for details]. But I figure writely is more suitable for collaborative type blogging or when one writes lengthy articles over a few days, even when one is using different systems. But for day-to-day publishing, it does not fit the bill. Thought I still use it for writing long posts over multiple days [like this one].

Next in line, the Firefox extension provided by Performancing. I didn’t wrote anything about it, mainly because it is already discussed in length many times so far over many blogs. And I really like the extension!! It comes very near to what I was looking for. But the only problem I face [quiet a many times] is the strange way wordpress displays the entries made by the extension, that is there are no line breaks !! As a result, most of the time I have to again login to wordpress.com and re-edit the complete entry !! Though I don’t know how many of you face the same issue.

So currently I am back to square one. I am using the bare-bone text editor provided by wordpress.com, obviously without the TinyMCE and it is doing the job pretty well.

I know there would be other editors available for doing the job which I might have not come across [a very high possibility]. Don’t forget to let me know if you know & use any other editor for posting to wordpress.com
