This, you can say, is the part of my earlier post, “Kind of blogs I hate” !
Though for me all the comments that I recieved are as precious, albeit there is one which I would like to point out:
Hi:
I just failed one item, and that is “Read More. The reason I do it, is to help bloggers who are short on bandwidth. My first page is very simple, with only one small image to give the reader a hint of what will be covered in the next page where the real stuff is.
It never occurred to me, people would have an issue with one click, but now I know better. Hmmm. What will I do to help those surfing with an Internet speed of 56 KB? I’ll think of something.
The rest of your points are well taken and I agree with all of them.
Just my two cents worth.
Omar.-
Omar, I completely respect what you wrote [so I get to keep these 2 cents]. So I guess I need to come clean on this one.
There is another reason I don’t like “Read More” links, that is apart from me being a fcuking lazy, which is very simple.
Say you keep 10 entries on your main page, each entry having “Read More” link. Now I am just browsing your site and want to read all the entries since I like the text before “Read More” link.
What does that mean ?? I will have to click “Read More” 10 times and not to mention 9 times I’ll have to click “Back” button. That counts to 19 extra clicks for reading 10 articles [going by this calculations, what I wrote in my earlier entry about 1 click, looks like the understatement of the year].
Now instead of that, say you keep latest 5 complete entries on your page. So to read 10 entries I’ll have to click just once more. And I believe loading 10 “Read More” pages would take more time and bandwidth to load as compared to 2 pages with 5 entries each.
This, I agree, is based one simple rule that I follow. If someone is not going to like first 3 lines of your first two entry he/she is not going take pain of reading anymore.
WISHING ALL A VERY HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR

The only reason I do the on some of my posts is they are long and take up too much of my blog. I know what it’s like to come across a really long post and just move on because I’m overwhelmed. So I do the to give someone the option to read it if they are interested or just move on.
hmm, fair point. i’ll keep that in mind.
I’m fucking lazy myself, unfortunately. That’s why the post titles are usally a different color and/or much larger font. If I don’t want to read the rest of an entry, I’ll just scroll down to another entry and begin reading the next one to see if that catches my interest, and so on if it is again BORING.
Hey man, cool blog.
Wondering if you can help me out with a question.
I just recently got myself a wordpress.com blog and I noticed you don’t have any ‘read more’ links on the bottom of each of your posts.
I will occasionally use a read more link if I have a really long post, but i certainly don’t need on on every post (they even show up when there is no ‘more’.
Would you be able to tell me how you got rid of these links? I’ve been looking but just can’t find the setting.
Thanks,
Peter

didn’t work unfortunately,
even tried chaging to the same colour scheme and header image for a few minutes to see if that was it
oh well, will live with it for now.
also how did you get all the extra stuff on the right panel (like the X.Tra part.
I guess my next question should be whether you have found a good website with tips etc, so i don’t have to keep naggin you
thanks for the help,
Peter
