It is fcuking annoying !!
As I wrote in my earlier del.icio.us or not, del.icio.us is still facing problems, and as it looks, there are LOADS of problems. The current message is :
Due to the power outage earlier in the week, we appear a number of continued hiccups. We’ve taken everything offline to properly rebuild and restore everything. I apologize and hope to have this resolved as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued patience.
And here is the entry from their blog telling the same story.
My complete reliance on del.icio.us & my every increasing fcuking laziness, has put be in a very awkward position. I want to move away from del.icio.us for the time being but I never took backup of my bookmarks from del.icio.us.
WHAT !! YOU NEVER TOOK BACKUP !! YOU FCUKING LAZY DIPSHIT !!!
Yes! Yes! That what I wrote above, right !!
So I want to move away, but I don’t know where !! I have heard for a few more social bookmark services, but don’t know which one could step into the shoes of del.ico.us and do it reliably.
If you know of any such service that you have been using and things it’s just the right thing, do let me know. On my side, I’ll update the post as and when I’ll find one myself.
UPDATE:
Okay, after looking around a bit [yeah, I am too lazy to look around a lot], I came across few SBSes [Social Bookmark Services] and out of them settled down on following 4:
I am still playing around with the above 4, and will probably continue doing so for a day or two before deciding on any one. For those who have a bigger appetite, below are other SBSes I came across:
technorati: del.icio.us bookmark social bookmarks

You may want to consider Simpy – a LOT of users have moved there both when Y! bought del.icio.us, as well as when the site went down – you can see more here.
When those blow, they’ll blow too.
Be realistic. Do backups.
I’ve also been playing around with Simpy and Blinklist and teetered from both services. Check out my blog for some posts on both.
I’d like to invite you to try out http://www.diigo.com — It’s a new social annotation / bookmarking service at Diigo.com (pronounced as “dee’go”), and has the richest set of features compared with any of the sites mentioned here. Here is a brief intro: http://www.diigo.com/help/learn_more_1.jsp
Basically, Diigo allows users to add highlight and put up a sticky note (private or public) directly on any part of a webpage just like reading a book, so one can quickly and effectively compile, extract, collaborate and share the online research findings with others, or for personal use. It also allows you to archive any original webpages you visited, access and full-text and advanced search of everything, including titles, bookmarked pages, highlights, notes, and tags, plus much more.
The service is still under closed beta (invitation required to gain access.) But you can request for a user account. Would love to have your feedback and participation!

I know it is not possible to completely replace del.icio.us [that's what I realised while looking for able replacement so far], I guess I have got too much used to it. And you are right, backup is what I will be taking weekly from now on. Will also me maintaining same set of bookmarks on possibly 2 more bookmark services to be on the safe side.
