Like I-don’t-know-the-exact-figure-but-know-it’s-quiet-high percentage of people in Mumbai, I also commute everyday to office on my two-wheeler.
Now, when I say two-wheeler, don’t think of it like some pony of a two-wheeler, something like but neither is it a beast of a bike like Yamaha R1 or Suzuki GSXR, but it’s a doing-it’s-duty-very-well 150cc bike.
Okay, coming back to main point. it generally takes me approximately 50 minutes one-way commute time, that is in peak traffic hours, and by the time I leave office it’s quiet dark. Also, 80% of my driving is done on one of the Mumbai’s most important road.
Yesterday, due to some personal engagements, I left the office early. By early I mean a good 3 hours early than my usual time, so early that there was bright daylight, the sun was shinning with it’s all might, the birds were still chirping, and I could see the road ahead somewhat-clearly. So, while bathing in bright sunlight and enjoying the traffic-free road I completed 50% of my journey home and that also in less than 15 minutes. And then the fun started.
For easing the traffic pressure and bringing down the commute time, there is lots of activities happening for enhancing the infrastructure, like widening of roads, diggings for sub-ways, diggings for roads, diggings for removing water-pipes, diggings for putting water-pipes, diggings for diggings sake, tar-felting, rock-felting, etc etc etc. All in all, a very dynamic and vibrant set of activities happens through-out the day, throughout my drive to office and back home.
Okay, so I reached this point where we have just one-way flyover, that also from the opposite direction, and they have now started work on making it two way. So after riding for 15 minutes in traffic-free roads, all of a sudden I saw that all the traffic is on a standstill. Why ?? Because they were digging IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FCUKING HIGHWAY !!! Hence they have stopped all traffic for 30 minutes as they were using some high capacity cranes & earth movers and parallel to that, in what they said was a move to save time, were relaying some part of the road anew. So, in fcuking broad daylight, the stopped all the traffic on a busy highway !! And as the trimmings would have, I reached there just 5 minutes after they stopped the traffic. JUST FCUKING 5 MINUTES LATE !!!!!
Why the-heck-on-earth can’t they do all this shit-shat in night where there is hardly any traffic ??
