It seems just yesterday that I was waiting eagerly for getting an invitation from wordpress for starting my blog [that is after numerous failures of starting one at blogger]. And then I stumbled upon Flock, through which I got the invitation. And Lo !! I’ve completed 1 year on this blog !!
Don’t worry, I am not going to bore anyone with the stats of one year [or you can also say they are nothing special to boast about]. Coincidently my first post on the blog was Web 2.0 or Bubble 2.0 !!.
So an year later, here I am. Posts becoming too few and too far in between. No I am not having the blogger’s-block, I hardly blog enough to have that. It’s just me, losing the focus sometimes and other times other things taking precedence over this. I ain’t into making resolutions, but will try to make sure that I post more regularly.
Have fun with the header ??

The differences:
Past: Time it took to read a novel/book completely - 2 days [max]
Present: Time it takes to read a novel/book completely - 25 days [and counting]
Past: Where I would read a novel/book - Lying comfortably on the bed
Present: Where I read a novel/book - In the Loo
Past: Number of novels/books I used to read in a month - 5-7 [easily]
Present: Number of novels/books I read in a month - 1 [and still reading]
And that, dear friend, is the big difference !
Past was when I was a free bird. Free as northern winds, doing anything, anywhere, anytime.
Present is when I am a bird. Bird as ofmy better-half [extra emphasis on OF].
DISCLAIMER: This is just the current state of my reading and does not necessarily apply to life in whole [who wanna mess with the better-halves].
I know, it’s been a really long time since I have had a decent post. But I’ve been held by the fascinating end-of-season of Formula 1 and all of my time [or whatever is left of it] is taken up by my F1 Blog.
With just 2 more races to go & 14 days remaining [roughly], I don’t wanna miss any second of it. So it will a little quiet around here, atleast for next 2 weeks. Sorry about that.
And now … back to ACTION.
Human beings have a seemingly fundamental tendency to compensate for lower risks in one area by taking greater risks in another.
- Canadian psychologist Gerald Wilde
No …. No .. don’t misread the title, this is a family-oriented blog [I hope so].
Since past few days I’ve been fighting [really] my a$$ out to install Ubuntu Linux [Drapper Drake 6.06 LTS]. And boy-o-boy am I glad Microsoft created Windows XP ! There is always one thing or another that just refuse to work.
First it’s setting up the HD partitioning & and painstakingly making sure all partitions get recognized.
Then the damn drivers for every damn thing, be it network card or Sound card or CPU drivers, one thing or other just kept on missing. Everything I’ve to reboot in XP, download the file and then reboot again into Ubuntu. Why ? Because damn network card drivers just won’t install so I was not able to configure internet.
So after a week & countless format of different partitions, I had given up. Until something better comes up which installs with less headaches I’m done with Linux.
I’m not passing a verdict on Linux or Ubuntu Linux, maybe others won’t have that many problems installing Ubuntu as much I had. These are just my thoughts. Or maybe I’m not classified as Human Being.

Such a long time since my last post !!

Behind-the-scenes, I’ve been busy customizing my machine to the fullest. And customization I’ve done. All the cool UI themes, icons & wallpapers I’ve gathered till date, have been used and the final product is there for all to see.
Though I don’t have the names of all the icons & wallpaper creators, but I would like to thank them all for the outstanding work they have done. And specially the guys at PortraitofaKite for creating “Fly a Kite OSX”. One of the most amazing collection of softwares for giving a very “OS-X’ish” look & feel to Windows XP.
Other than that, all the necessary tools have been installed & the system is all set to Rock-N-Roll
